Kopan Monastery is one of Nepal’s well-known Buddhist religious and educational centers. It is also known as Kopan Buddhist Monastery or Kapan Gumba. The monastery is located in Kopan, within Budhanilkantha Municipality in the northeastern part of the Kathmandu Valley. Because of its peaceful environment, scenic views of Shivapuri–Nagarjun National Park, and strong religious and spiritual atmosphere, Kopan Monastery is considered an ideal place for meditation, study, and spiritual practice.
